CHOICES FAIR 2017 

will be hosted on Wednesday, 10.25.17 at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois.  

CHOICES IS A REGIONAL POST-SECONDARY PLANNING NIGHT FOR STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES/DISABILITIES/SPECIAL NEEDS WHO ARE COLLEGE BOUND.   

 THE CHOICES FAIR IS FREE OF CHARGE FOR FAMILIES, PROFESSIONAL STAFF, AND OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE FROM ONE OF THE CHOICES CONSORTIUM SCHOOLS TO ATTEND CHOICES.

  • LARGE GROUP REGISTRATION:  If you are bringing a large group on busses, please let us know by clicking on this 
                                                           link.  Reserving space for buses is the main reason for letting us know.

 Breakout Session Descriptions: 



 6:00 pm to 6:40 pm:  First Breakout Session for Families (Choose one to attend)

  1. ​University of Missouri Disability Center:  Accessing services on a large campus.  Preparing for the transition to college for students with disabilities
  2. ​University of Denver Learning Effectiveness Program - Accessing services on a small campus and program level supports.
  3. Loras College Lynch Learning Center - Supports for students with Autism on a campus.  Preparing for the transition to college for students with autism.

 6:50 pm to 7:40 pm: Second Breakout Session for Families (Choose one to attend - You will still have plenty of time to check in with representatives at the fair)

  1. ​​University of Missouri Disability Center:  Accessing services on a large campus.  Preparing for the transition to college for students with disabilities
  2. University of Denver Learning Effectiveness Program - Accessing services on a small campus and program level supports.
  3. ​​Northern Illinois University Counseling - Mental health supports at college and preparing for the transition to college.

 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm:  College Fair ​(Doors will not open before 7:00 pm).  You will still have time to meet with all of the  college staff even if you attend the 2nd breakout session.
